Event Company Branding: Format Prototypes

Feedback

The business cards were printed on double sided silk paper, which meant the design had a sheen to them and the business cards looked high end and had a smooth feel to them. The client was happy with the feel and look, however the client did have some feedback and improvements to be made.
First of all the client wished for the business cards to be thicker, however within the methods of printing and types of paper available this is restricted as this was the thickest paper at 300gsm available to print on at the time.
Another improvement to be made was the sizing of the business cards and when cut out they were all slightly off centre and at different sizings. Therefore when printing them again on a different, more improved quality of paper the designs will be cut out more professionally and carefully with a scalpel rather than on a guillotine. As a result of this as well ,the designs, specifically the logos themselves are slightly off centre and don't have the same border or thickness around them. This could be because of the alignment on the double sided paper or the placement of the logo on the initial designs, either way this will be revisited when printing again.

Feedback

The other designs which are part of the branding pack, that were tested as prototypes, were both the notecards and personal messages. They were tested at different sizes, both A5 and A6, the preferred sizing was A6 as the A5 sizes were fed back as too big or large to be placed within the pack.
Another part of the design was the opacity and size of the logo. The middle opacity of 50% was preferred as the full 100% opacity design was too vibrant, and the other opacity at 30% was too faded and couldn't be seen very well.
The client fed back that they were happy with the 50% opacity logo, however they wanted it to be made much smaller, so it's just a small hint to he brand rather than filling up a large portion of the notecard.

Summary

  • Test printing business cards on a different type of paper, preferably thicker and more durable.
  • Cut out the business cards more carefully to make sure they are all the same size.
  • Reprint the note cards and personal notes with a much smaller logo at the right opacity.
