Designs
The first colour scheme, whilst remaining to take colours inspired by nature, it keeps the bold and vibrant colours alive of the existing Grown Up Chocolate Company brand. It means the designs represent the healthy, free from range by using natural, more muted colours, whilst also keeping the contemporary, indulgent personality of the brand by the colours being highly saturated and bold. The colours used within each design create contrast, portraying the contrasting aims of the brand, which are to be healthy whilst also being indulgent. The colours also complement the bright pink of the existing logo, which adds a pop of vibrant colour, amongst the natural muted tones.
Feedback
Feedback consisted of positive and constructional comments, many stated that the colours worked well as they represented the healthy nature of the bars, using natural ingredients and therefore using natural colours inspired by those colour schemes found in nature. The colours represent to each of the bars well, apart from the dandelion one, maybe reconsider this colour choice as the dark green is quite overpowering.
Others said that the main background colour, the copper and the pink clashed too much, specifically on the blue and dark green one. The middle design was said to work well and the colours contrasted with each other nicely and blended together. Although in spite of these comments, the copper actually makes the rest of the text and symbols stand out against the background colour and it also breaks the main colours up slightly, so as to not over power the design. The colours as well as relating to the flower and illustrations they also relate to the ingredients within the bar, apart from again the dandelion design, maybe reconsider using a yellow or lighter green shade.
Colour Scheme 1
Design
After receiving feedback on the previous design, it was thought to be useful to experiment with more muted tones and unsaturated colours, to represent the health and free from part of the bars in more depth. Therefore lighter, paler and more muted colours have been experimented with.
Feedback
Feedback came back that this colour scheme was too grey tones and light, it didn't really make the bars seem indulgent or desirable. Also specifically on the rhubarb bar, the text and images are quite difficult to see as the colour palette is so light. The bright pink also seems too overpowering against the muted tones and therefore seems to stand out too much and looks out of place. After reviewing both colour schemes, it was suggested to try the two together, using the brighter, bolder colours alongside the muted tones to create a contrast which isn't too overpowering. It would also continue to keep the aims of the brand to show off the healthy, free form nature of the bars whilst also keeping the indulgent, decadent personality through the highly saturated colours.
Colour Scheme 2
Design
This design used the best and most successful parts of the previous two colour schemes, showing off the healthy, free form nature of the bars whilst also keeping the indulgent, decadent personality through the highly saturated colours. It also uses a more appropriate colour scheme relating to each other bars, relating to both their ingredients and flower.
