These are the final icons for I Wonder, the illustrations are trying to be abstract but not too abstract and trying to just use line drawings to make them as simple and stripped back as possible. This approach to creating the icons came about from research into existing apps and branding which used a lot of vector drawings and line drawings. Another aspect of research was into how children's use apps and their approach to them. Children love a challenge, whereas adults look for efficiency and want to know how to use everything straight away, children like trying to find out what everything is and everything does. Therefore it kind of creates a fun guessing game and a challenge for them to figure out when using the app.
