Feedback
Feedback mainly consisted of ways in which to help promote the design and how to create visual strategies to do this. An idea was to create two different visual strategies, one targeting children and one targeting adults. An idea to help to do this was to target schools where there are both of these audiences available to target and promote the software to.
The main things to focus on where how to make the software appealing, engaging and creating a strategy in which to promote it in this way which encourages users to use it get excited about it and encourage others to use it.
One suggestion was ways to recommend the app to one another, between kids and then adults. Similar to messenger and other apps, recommending to friends.
An idea to promoting it to kids is tv advert, youtube adverts, social media, trying to use technology again to reduce the use of technology.
Maybe creating the two visual strategies within the app as well, with different icons and colours most appropriate for each audience. Other feedback about the app itself was maybe make it more appropriate for children, as at the moment someone described it as 'clinical', also maybe make the character more interesting and child friendly. The most important thing is to get the right balance between making the app appealing yet sensible.
It's important to think about how the software and the promotional material is packaged and distributed and in what way would be the most effective.
The most important components are the colours, design and iconography of the software, and then the campaign and distribution of how to promote and get it out there, how to make it known and to get people to use and engage with it. In other words it's now about promoting the solution, now the solution has been designed.
Summary
- Revisit app colours, and character.
- Consider designing the software slightly differently int he adult/parent section. (Mainly colours and icons).
- Come up with a strategy and concept to promote the software and how best to advertise it to both parents and children. (Consider schools, media, toys, packaging).
- Visual Strategies for promoting the software to both audiences.
