Another idea was to take inspiration from the client's photographs, looking and picking out elements such as strong lines and geometric shapes found within the imagery. As from research this is a large inspiration for scandinavian design, also within lifestyle and food photography there are usually many interesting shapes, patterns and shadows in and around the photography.
Below shows basic initial line drawings of the shapes and lines found within the imagery and taken from the outlines of the objects. The lines and shapes that came from doing this were quite geometric and had lots of potential to create patterns, shapes and logos with.
Further experimentation with the shapes was carried out, changing the sizes and strokes, colours and outlines of them. Creating bold, vibrant shapes, the colours seen below were also taken from the same photograph to keep the client's brand in keeping with her photos and on brand.
Below also shows further designs using the shapes, placing them into different contexts, experimenting with business cards and logos. Trying out both vibrant, primary colour schemes, as well as more pastel colours such as grey and blue. Using negative space, inverting the shapes, creating patterns.
Another idea was to experiment with grids, as these are important across design and photography, looking at distortion, as this is something that was a focus in the client's practice. Experimentations with different types of grids, creating slight optical illusions. However the other ideas seemed stronger and grids seemed too serious and have been done before. The grids could possibly be used alongside other ideas.
