For the adverts we knew we wanted photographs, as this creates a much more personal message and was the best way of getting our idea across. We set up a temporary studio you could say, using lights, tripods and DSLR cameras.
We took a huge range of images, therefore we had lots to work and experiment with. It also meant we had a variety of images to fit with the different kind and dimensions of adverts we were going to create and design.
We took some still images of a set up of the bedroom, getting out idea across with the set up of pillows, bed and the carpet.
We took photographs which were both portrait and landscape, for the instagram, double page spread and the Ad shel, therefore our idea could be communicated across all of these collateral. The introduction of using a person, creating a humanising element meaning the adverts would be more relatable, it also meant our idea was a lot more understandable and explicit. The use of movement added something else to the photographs as well, creating an almost 3D, in the moment element.
Below shows the range of photographs that were take, before we selected the ones which seemed to suit our idea and would be the most effective for use on the adverts, before we began to edit them in lightroom as some o the photographs above have been.
