Development with the poster imagery, experimenting with different styles, textures and strokes of illustrations.
Below shows the introduction of photography, using photographs of children to then place the mask over, which definitely is more successful in terms of communicating the initiative and meaning and motivation behind the campaign. As well as creating more imagery for the poster, for a more engaging and interesting design. However the mask designs still look quite flat and the design needs to be more three dimensional and have different depths to it for the posters and campaign to stand out.
Experimentations with the addition of textures, using crayons, as well as using multiply layer effects on photoshop to merge the photograph in with the background as one piece of design. The black dashed edges seemed too harsh, therefore using a white edge was experimented with , however the mask designs weren't cohesive when manipulated in photoshop. Feedback suggested to create my own textures and patterns, specifically related to each 'superpower'.
The colours have been mainly kept the same throughout, as from feedback although the colours were similar to a school supplier website, it meant that it was communicating to the
correct audience.
In terms of typography, the colours and typeface were working well, however the size and layout needed more experimentation and development. The brush style typeface worked well and tied together with the mask design.
Next steps
- Develop typography
- Develop Photography
- Create patterns for masks
