Monday - 25th February

Year 3 - Morning


  • Reading - One on one reading with students, focusing on targeted readers. All have different levels and reading ages and they move up through these. As an incentive they have bookmarks for the 'Reading Challenge', to encourage them to read at home and at school. 
  • English - Shades of Meaning - Students learn about shades of meanings by arranging the words from weakest to strongest. Dictation - Reading out a sentence aloud whilst the children spell it out. FUN
  • Maths - CLICK, Time Tables, Measurements.

Year 3 - Afternoon

  • RE-  Learning about different religions, specifically Jewish Weddings, learning about promises and vows, what these mean and can they give examples. Creating their own Ketubah, incorporating art, literacy and RE.

  • Spellings in the morning.
  • 5 a day fitness.
  • L.O. to stick in, glue/stickers. 
  • VCOP - Vocabulary, Connectives, Openers and Punctuation
  • Reading Challenge/ Bookmarks
  • Privilege/ Warning/ Consequence Cards - Behaviour, Good to be Green.

Tuesday - 26th February

Year 4 - Morning

  • Reading
  • Guided Reading (Whole Class/ answering questions about text), Gangsta Granny
  • Resilience (Mental Heath Awareness)

Year 5 - Afternoon

  • Graphic Design Task - Restaurant design and logos.
  • P.E/ Games - Hockey

Wednesday

Year 4 - Morning

Stepping Out - Road Safety
Literacy - Metaphors and Similes, writing these into a letter. 
Intervention Groups - Row the Atlantic (Phonics, spellings), Reading Comprehension, CLIC, Social Skills


Year 6 - Afternoon

Reading -  Comprehension - SATS Practice
History - Primary and Secondary Sources, Mayans.

The Children’s University - Encouraging extra-curricular activities. 

Thursday

Year 5 - Morning

Maths - Multiplication, Word Problems
Guided Reading - Illustration, drawing what the text says/describes
SAFE - Maths Tests
CLIC Challenges - SAFE Challenges

Year 6 - Afternoon

Science - Mouldy Bread, Science Experiments.
Literacy - Character Profiles - Wonder

Friday

Year 6 - Morning

Maths - Arithmetic, Maths Booklets
Simplifying Fractions
Subtraction Methods, Mixed Number Fractions
Reading - Bug Club, Free Readers

Whiteboard Software - ActivInspire

Year 4 - Afternoon

Art/ History/ Geography - Logos, Hieroglyphics.
Creating their own hieroglyphics for all things to do with global warming, recycling and the environment.
