Experiments looking at the designs of the mask, creating and adding cut out effects, seeing which looks better, wither cut out dashed lines or a hand drawn brush stroke. The dashed lines work well as it adds an interactive and creative element of cutting, sticking and creating and making things.
Initial poster designs, applying the same illustrations of masks to each of the posters, sticking with the same colour scheme, using purple for the background as this makes the other colours stand out against the background the most as well as being legible.
Beginning to add type, experimenting with Futura and Circular Bold Std, as well as a display typeface looking at the style of brush strokes to be in keeping with the texture and illustration of the masks. Also incorporating initial logo designs into the poster, looking how each of the different elements work together.
From feedback the posters and designs seemed too flat and there was too much white space, the posters needed more texture, depth and imagery added to them to make them more intriguing and fun to the audience and to the eye. Next steps:
- Experiment with typefaces and placement of type.
- Logo Experiments
- Experiments with imagery and textures.
