Brief 6 - Research Brief - Initial Ideas

Another initial idea using a more hand drawn approach, using similar mask designs, experimenting with different formations, ideas of creating a logo. Still using a similar colour scheme, but using different brush strokes on illustrator to achieve a more textured style. Also experiments with type, creating initial logo and poster designs, seeing how the drawings work alongside text.

Experimenting with more abstract approaches, using parts of the illustrations alongside text, creating a number of different layouts and designs, to be used on posters, logos or social media. Feedback suggested when using just half the mask it's hard to work out what it is, it's better if it's recognised straight away. Also I'm not sure how these would transfer to poster designs or across a range of printed materials.

Although the designs do look successfully when placed all together side by side, the colours are probably the most successful, they really stand out and are vibrant, as well as working well as a whole colour scheme. The designs would be better and more explicit if the whole mask designs were in the frame, but one thing that is working is the more textured and hand drawn approach, it communicates the audience of children a lot better and also adds depth and texture to the design.

Further experiments creating different patterns with the masks, using different brush strokes and the added addition of text. However again the designs below are difficult to take elements from and create a whole cohesive brand or campaign from them. The designs needed to focus more on poster and printed design material and really show and communicate what Creative Heroes is and who it's for.
