The journey continues, an exhibition about how racism still affects those in Liverpool still now, the affects of Slavery and the feelings left of that era. Inspiration to look at the effect that slavery still has now and the impact that people in the black community still see nowadays.
Here is looking t the culture of Africa and the objects that they used on a daily basis, both in every day life and also those used for entertainment. Taking inspiration from this for the brief, looking at the design of the masks and the instruments they used to create music.
Maps showing the trade routes and the routes that the enslaved africans were taken from and to and the shocking number that were involved. This can be shown or designed in a way within the form of an object which show the sheer number and impact of africans being transported to all these different places.
Exhibition showing the impact and explanation of the underground rail road, the secret codes used and the hidden messages in songs and conversations that the slaves had with each other. Inspiration taken was ideas to create an object with hidden or secret messages to acknowledge this large part of the slave trade.
There was a part of the exhibition that was solely about the music and the influence that the slave trade had on this and all the different parts of music which have been influenced and have influenced each other.
These show the words which have come from the slave trade period and the impact of how they are used today and have had an influence on society today.
