Moving away from photography and focusing on the use of strong typography in illustrator, experiments with the creation of typefaces, using similar mosaic shapes and pieces, which is inspired by research and previous initial ideas. The title ‘Together’, not only showed how the students and their work come together in the final show, but also how mosaics fit into one another and create a whole picture. This idea was chosen to be developed further due to the abstract and creativity of it, into the varying elements of the campaign.
The designs below show the initial beginnings of the final design, experimenting with a range of different more vibrant colour schemes. Beginning to experiment with the typeface itself as well, using varying colours for each parts of the letterforms, seeing which is more legible. The typeface itself had been developed and created by one of the other members of the creative team, using the main concept of mosaics to build letterforms.
However the designs below, the colours seem too vivid and don't represent the colours of the university, as well as creating a cohesive colour scheme which could be used across the campaign.
