App Development 02 - Parent Section

- Home screen is obviously the same, as this is the screen that the app opens up to.

- More options.
- More direct and to the point.
- Nothing happens when you press the buttons, no animations to avoid annoyance.
- Adults are more likely to know where to press and don't need everything on the page to be interactive or be moving.
- The colour scheme has been followed on from the home screen and children's section of the app, therefore it keeps a cohesive look and feel to the app.

- Experiments with the roundness of the buttons, whether they are more rectangular or more round, the round seems to make the app and buttons more approachable and friendly, however does this need to exist for both children and parents.
- The roundness makes them seem more interactive and button-like therefore it gives an idea of where to press and where not to press.

- Where information is displayed, scrolling is required, which is the main reason for having the phone and orientation of the app portrait for when the parents use it. It's quicker, easier and more efficient to read this way, they can scroll at ease using just one hand.
- The return button will be on show at all times, therefore they know how to head back to the previous page, it will be at the forefront, with the text behind.

- When the 'resources' section is pressed it opens up in the internet on the webpage, where resources are available to download and print.
- This would be designed separately but keeping similar colour schemes to the app, therefore the parent knows that they are connected. The website can also be reached on a computer by typing in the app title.
- Should the resources open up in the app or in a webpage separately to the app itself?

- The FAQ's has a search bar to save scrolling through them, it will find similar questions with keywords which the user has typed in. This again gives an ease of use for the parent, as they probably don't have time to be scrolling through all of the questions.
- Do the titles need to be at the top of each page, so that the user knows where they are, or is it obvious anyway?

- After considering the colour scheme and the evaluating the appropriateness to the user, the colours have been experimented with and revisited, to a more subdued colour schemes, however still taking the colours from the other sections of the app.
- Does this make the app too different within the sections?
- Do you think that adults would mind the bright vibrant colours?
- Does the colour scheme and slightly different layouts here work and still relate to the children's section of the app or does it look too far from the other section?
