Gestalt Principles

Gestalt Psychology - The meaning of shape and from, and how defining an area of psychology aims to understand our ability to perceive and organise the world.

- Ideas can be conceived and informed by our already complex understandings of the world.

- We examine objects by observing their outlines.

- Our minds match shapes and pattern.

- We follow multiple interpretations.

- People will perceive and interpret ambiguous or complex images, in the simplest form possible.

- Symmetry gives us a feeling of solidity and order, it is out nature to impose order on chaos.

- This principle leads us to want to balance compositions, although they don't need to be perfectly symmetrical to be in balance.
